Iced Sugar Cookie Latte

It’s #nationalcookieday 🍪 Let’s make an iced sugar cookie latte.

I had no idea this day existed until like 2-3 days ago lol but it gave me an excuse to try making one of my favorite holiday drinks at home. I had no luck finding a syrup to purchase online but I did find this copycat recipe on lifestyleofafoodie.com.

Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon butter extract

  • ¼ teaspoon almond extract

Bring the sugar and water to a boil then let it simmer for 10 minutes. Add in the extract, give it a stir and then let it cool down.

It’s good to note that it didn’t taste exactly like a Starbucks replica because I used a dark espresso roast, whereas Starbucks uses a blonde roast for this drink. Overall, I really liked it - the next time I try the recipe, I’ll probably add more vanilla extract. If you try it, feel free to adjust the flavors to your taste 👍🏽
