Dealing With Acne: How I Manage It.

Jessica Hughee

'Ello, homies.

In my most recent video posted above, I talked about my acne story and how I've struggled with it for over a decade. Below are the products that I currently use. Of course, I’m not a licensed professional and what may work for some may not work for others. I just wanted to provide a list of products that have been helpful.

Anthony's Glycolic Acid Cleanser: Since I have hyper-pigmentation that I want to get rid of, I've been using this cleanser. If you decide to try this out, make sure you wear sunscreen (as always), especially when using any products that contain glycolic acid.

Murad Acne Control Clarifying Cleanser: I first used this cleanser a while back when I purchased the Murad 30 Day Acne Control kit. I'll use this when my skin is just completely acting up.

Spironolactone: My endocrinologist prescribed this to me last summer. This medication not only helps out with breakouts, but it also beneficial for those who struggle with rapid facial hair growth.

650mg Vitex Chasteberry Supplement Formula: My mom told me about chasteberry, and y'all, I am so glad she did. It's a natural supplement that helps with issues such as pms, fertility, menopause and hormone imbalance.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay + Apple Cider Vinegar: I wish I had discovered this combination before! It's great for detoxifying your skin and helps fade scarring. I only use this mask once a week because it is really powerful.

Thayer’s Witch Hazel with Rose Petal: I once saw a meme that said that a white washcloth will humble you—witch hazel needs to be added to that list. Witch hazel will definitely remind you that you missed a spot, or spots.

Trader Joe's Tea Tree Oil: it’s pretty simple: I’ll dip a cotton round or q-tip in the oil, dilute it with water since it's strong, and apply it to the affected areas. I've seen some of the prices online, but it may be cheaper in the store.

Trader Joe's Enrich Moisturizing Face Lotion: This moisturizer contains Vitamins A, C & E and has SPF 15. It gives my face a nice, subtle glow so I love it!

Hopefully this list is helpful to you guys. Feel free to share with me what products you've been using! And remember to love yourself through the process.
